BeNaughty Review 2026: Pricing, Profiles and Real User Ratings

Last updated October 4, 2026

4.2 / 10

Running since 2007 with useful Safe Mode settings, but let down by bot complaints, auto-sent messages, a steep monthly price and sticky billing.

BeNaughty was one of the banner ads that followed me around the internet the week Craigslist personals died in 2018. It is still following people around. One quiet setting buried in its account menu tells you more about it than any ad does, so I start there.

Best for
Men who want a cheap short trial of a mainstream hookup site and will read the checkout page line by line

What works

  • Nearly two decades old, and under the same Malta owner since 2013, so it is not going to vanish next month
  • The $2.99 three-day trial is a cheap way to look around before you commit to anything
  • Phone verification plus a Safe Mode setting that blocks contact from unverified accounts
  • Plain, fast layout with search, a swipe-style Like Gallery and built-in video chat

What doesn't

  • Trustpilot sits at 1.5 out of 5, and recent reviews keep describing bots, AI-looking profiles and pushes to move off-site
  • A setting called Promote my Account can send chat messages for members, so an opening line may not have been typed by the person in the photo
  • One month at $57.13 costs more than half of the six-month plan, which is a trap for impulse buyers
  • Renewal surprises, sister-site upsells and hard cancellations keep coming up on Reddit, PissedConsumer and Trustpilot

The BeNaughty setting that talks for you

Most reviews of BeNaughty bury this halfway down the page, if they mention it at all. I think it is the most important thing about the site.

Dating Sites Reviews describes a feature called Promote my Account. When it is on, BeNaughty automatically sends chat messages on your behalf to online members who match your Looking For settings. The site's pitch is that this gets conversations going faster and keeps things active. You can switch it off in Account Settings, and the Message Center marks auto-sent messages with a small circle icon after the name.

Now flip it around and look at it from the inbox side.

If the site can message people for members, then some of the hey handsome lines landing in a new guy's inbox were never typed by the woman in the photo. That doesn't make her fake. She might be a real person who ticked a box and forgot about it. But it does mean that the classic first-hour flood, the one that makes a new member think he just walked into a party, proves almost nothing about how many women are actually sitting at a keyboard waiting for him.

A Trustpilot reviewer named John wrote in July 2025 that as soon as he signed up, before he had a photo or a profile, he had several messages from women within minutes, and he decided they were bots. Maybe they were. Maybe some were auto-promoted accounts. Either way, that welcome wave is the single most common story in complaints about sites like this one, and Promote my Account is the first thing I think of when I read it.

My rule, and it goes back to my Craigslist days: nobody is excited about you before they've seen your face. On Craigslist in 2010, an email that showed up four minutes after you posted, with no reference to anything you wrote, was a spammer with a link. Same instinct applies here. Look for the circle icon. And turn the feature off on your own account the minute you log in, unless you want strangers getting messages you never wrote, under your name.

One company, 238 storefronts

To understand BeNaughty you have to understand who sells it, because the site is one shop window in a very long row.

It started inside Cupid plc, a British dating company. The history on Dating Sites Reviews says Cupid was founded in 2005 by Max Polyakov and Bill Dobbie, picked up EasyDate in 2006 as an umbrella for its casual sites, and launched BeNaughty in 2007, first in the UK and then everywhere else. By 2010, the same source says, the network claimed 13 million paying subscribers. That is a company boast from the era, not an audit, so treat it like one.

In July 2013 Cupid sold off the casual business to focus on mainstream dating after listing on the London Stock Exchange. Reuters reported the sale of benaughty.com and sister sites at 43.1 million pounds, and the BBC put the total deal at 45.1 million pounds. The buyer was Together Networks, which still runs it. DatingScout lists the operator as Together Networks Limited at 19 Giovanni Curmi Street in Lija, Malta, with support at support@benaughty.com and a toll-free number.

And here is the number that explains half the complaints you'll read later. Dating Sites Reviews says Together Networks runs BeNaughty alongside 238 casual dating brands, including Flirt, IWantU and UpForIt.

Two hundred and thirty-eight. That's not a typo, and it's not unusual in this corner of the business either. The way these networks generally work is one company, one billing system, one big pool of members, and dozens or hundreds of front doors with different names and colors. One site is pitched at married guys, one at older men, one at a certain kink, one at a certain city. Ad traffic comes in through landing pages promising free local hookups, a lot of it bought through affiliates who get paid per signup, and whichever brand you land on, you are often walking into the same building. It's the same reason so many of these sites list the same corporate address, whether it's Malta or a suite in Miami Beach.

Does BeNaughty share members with its siblings? I don't have a document that spells out exactly how its pool is shared. What I can tell you is that a Reddit thread complaining about BeNaughty drew replies saying BeNaughty, LuvDating and QuickFlirt are related sites, and that one commenter said the terms allow sharing info across the network. And when a reviewer called Spuddy Duck wrote on Trustpilot in August 2025 that after the first payment it was all about getting him onto sister companies at high rates in tiny writing, that's the 238 storefronts talking. A big family of brands means a lot of incentive to walk you from one counter to the next.

$2.99 for three days, $57.13 if you blink

DatingScout's October 2026 BeNaughty review lists US prices last updated September 20, 2026. Three days for $2.99. One month for $57.13. Three months for $85.70, which works out to $28.57 a month. Six months for $114.27, or $19.05 a month.

Look at the one-month number again. Two single months cost more than the entire six-month plan.

That isn't sloppy pricing. It's a ladder, and the bottom rung is greased. The trial gets you in for the price of a coffee. The monthly price is set high enough to make the long plans look like a bargain, so the guy who is a little bit hooked on day three talks himself into six months because it's only nineteen bucks a month. And the guy who isn't paying attention gets the worst deal of all.

Because the trial renews. DatingScout says the first subscription for men renews for the same length and at the same rate unless changed, and you can stop repeat billing any time before the renewal date. It reports a three-day notice period to opt out of auto-renewal. It also says its readers reported charges at checkout that weren't clear at signup, and tells people to scroll all the way to the bottom of the payment page and look for extra monthly charges in small print. Trials that roll into a full monthly price are standard across this industry, not a BeNaughty invention. Most of the profit in this business comes from people who forget, and the companies know exactly how many of them there will be.

The rate card also moves around a lot. A Dating Sites Reviews page last updated in July 2021 said a three-month plan ran $16.20 a month, or $48.60 total, that the regular price came in under $20 a month, and that promotions could take off up to 60%. DatingScout's UK pricing page shows a one-day pass for 0.99 pounds and a week for 5.99 pounds. So what you see depends on your country, the date and whatever test the pricing team is running that week.

What does free get you? Depends what you are. DatingScout says women can message for free, while men need to pay to contact anyone, though a man can read the first messages in his inbox. That's the hook, by the way. You can see that someone wrote to you. To answer, you pay. Older reporting from Dating Sites Reviews said free members could message five different members a day, so the free allowance looks like it has tightened. Full photo albums, the Looking For section and member location are behind the paywall for men.

If I had $35 and wanted to understand BeNaughty for myself, I'd spend $2.99 on the trial and keep the other $32. Before paying I'd uncheck every pre-ticked box on the checkout page, read the whole page down to the bottom, and pay with a prepaid card or a card I could kill without a fight. I'd sign up with an email that has never touched my real name. Then I'd cancel the renewal the same day, in writing, and use the three days to see whether anyone answers a specific question with a specific answer. If the trial doesn't show you real people, a month won't either.

What you see in the first ten minutes on BeNaughty

Signup is about as short as it gets. DatingScout says the required fields are your gender, the gender you're looking for and your location. Photo optional. Email confirmation optional. You have to be 18. That's great if you're impatient and terrible for keeping junk out. Anybody with a spare email can be browsing in two minutes, and so can anybody running a script.

The search page is home base. Dating Sites Reviews describes a grid of profiles with username, age and distance, new member badges and a green dot for whoever's online, with filters for body type, ethnicity, piercings and so on. Paying members get more filters than free ones. Sort by last activity. A gorgeous profile that last logged in eight months ago is wallpaper.

Then there's the Like Gallery, BeNaughty's Tinder impression. One big photo, heart or skip, and a mutual like becomes a match. DatingScout calls it a Cute or Not game. And there's Flirtcast, a canned message the site fires off to a batch of members in your results. I'll admit I spent a good chunk of 2009 pasting the same message into Craigslist replies at 1am, and it didn't work then either. Women can tell.

Video calls are built in, per Dating Sites Reviews, and paying members can share photos and videos in chat, per DatingScout. On a phone you use the mobile site or, according to DatingScout, an Android app. No iOS app is listed. Dating Sites Reviews noted that earlier BeNaughty apps were pulled from both stores at some point, most likely over content, which is a common fate for anything this explicit.

The red flags I'd watch for in those first ten minutes are the boring ones. A wave of messages before you've uploaded a photo. Profiles that are all professional-looking glamour shots with two-line bios. Anyone who wants to move to Telegram or WhatsApp in the first few messages. And a woman who chats happily but slides around every direct question, which is exactly what a reviewer named David described on Trustpilot on May 16, 2026, when he called the site rampant with AI-generated profiles that will chat but dodge anything specific.

BeNaughty's guarantees read like coupons

I read terms pages the way other guys read box scores. I couldn't pull BeNaughty's own terms page during my research, so I won't quote it. What follows comes from the long-running review sites that documented the rules, and you should check it against the live terms before you pay.

Start with the Satisfaction Guarantee. Dating Sites Reviews says that if your full membership has run three months and you meet the conditions, including logging in at least three times a week and messaging at least five users, you can ask support for a free three-day trial on another Together Networks site. Look at the prize. It's not a refund. It's a trial on a sister site, which is to say another storefront in the same building. That's like complaining about a meal and getting a coupon for the restaurant next door owned by the same guy.

Then there's a 100% Money Back Guarantee on the upgrade page, according to the same source, which you claim by calling support and naming it, as long as you meet its terms. DatingScout says refunds under it are partial, not full. Whenever a guarantee needs you to call and recite its name, the qualifying rules are going to be narrow. Read them before you count on that 100%.

One thing I looked for specifically: any clause saying BeNaughty runs staff or entertainment profiles. A lot of sites in this business keep a paragraph in their terms saying some profiles are operated by paid chatters for amusement, and they keep it because it gives them legal cover for exactly what users complain about. I found no source showing BeNaughty has one, and I'm not going to say it does. The bot complaints are real complaints. They're user opinions, not findings.

Phone verification and Safe Mode are real, and they're thin

Credit where it's due. Dating Sites Reviews describes two ways to get verified: give a phone number and enter the code from the text, or call support and answer a few questions. Verified members get a badge. And there's Safe Mode, which, set to Full, lets only verified members contact you.

That's genuinely useful, mostly for women trying to clean up their inbox. For a man trying to work out whether a profile is a real woman, it's a low bar. A prepaid SIM costs a few bucks at any gas station. Phone verification proves a phone exists. It doesn't prove a face matches a photo.

DatingScout also says BeNaughty is strict about photos and that each one can only be uploaded once. Good against duplicates, useless against a stolen photo uploaded for the first time. So the reverse image search is still your best friend. I walk through how I do it, and the other tells, in my guide to spotting fake personals profiles.

Three men for every woman, give or take

Nobody agrees on BeNaughty's numbers. DatingScout lists 113,000 members from the USA, 120,000 active weekly, and a split of 75% men and 25% women, with most members in their 20s and 30s and a growing group in their 40s. Dating Sites Reviews, back in 2021, claimed an even 52% women to 48% men, plus more than 13.3 million visitors a month worldwide and 40,000 new members a week.

I believe the lopsided one.

Every casual site that lets women use the main features free while charging men ends up with more men than women. That's the whole reason women get it free: to patch over a ratio problem the business can never fully fix. And the ratio drives everything else. It's why the messages are sold, why the trial exists, why the auto-messaging feature exists, and why the industry has a long, ugly history of filling the gap with profiles that aren't what they seem. Three to one is normal for the category. It just means your odds are a lot worse than the ads suggest, and a woman who seems wildly eager to meet you specifically deserves a second look.

What BeNaughty users keep complaining about

On BeNaughty's Trustpilot page as of October 2026 the TrustScore is 1.5 out of 5, labeled Bad, from 634 reviews. The profile was claimed in July 2019. Trustpilot notes the company hasn't invited customers to review recently, so the reviews may not be representative, and that it replied to 93% of negative reviews, usually within two weeks.

That reply rate is more than most companies in this niche bother with, so I'll give it that. And keep in mind that adult sites always score low on Trustpilot. Nobody posts a five-star review of a hookup site under their own name after a good night. The guy who got billed twice writes four paragraphs. So I don't read the score. I read for repetition.

The repetition here is easy to spot. David's AI profiles that won't answer a direct question. John's messages before he had a photo. Spuddy Duck's sister-site upsells in small print. Another widely visible review, quoted in search results, said users got dozens of likes and favorites but no replies to messages, and that some contacts tried to move the conversation to Telegram or WhatsApp. That last one is the oldest move there is. When someone pushes you off a platform fast, it's usually because whatever comes next, a link, a gift card request, a sob story, would get them banned on the platform.

To be fair, there are softer voices. A reviewer named Donald wrote in March 2026 that the app felt smoother than before, with more active users and less frustration, though he still mentioned spam and empty profiles. That was about the warmest thing I found, and it's not very warm.

Reddit is blunter. One r/dating thread title claims BeNaughty seems to be 99.9% bots and hookers, which is the kind of title Reddit loves, and one commenter there said a supposed free trial came with a charge. Over on r/Scams, a 2025 post titled Benaughty.com not letting me cancel got the standard advice to call the bank. PissedConsumer has more of the same, including a man who said he got an email roughly every 30 minutes and couldn't find a way to cancel.

I found no regulator action against BeNaughty, and these are user stories, not findings. But when the same billing story shows up on three different platforms over several years, I stop calling it a coincidence.

Cancelling BeNaughty without a fight

Cancelling the subscription and deleting the account are two separate jobs. A lot of the angry posts come from guys who did one and assumed it covered the other.

Do the billing first. DatingScout says you can cancel by emailing support@benaughty.com, through customer support or by postal letter, and Dating Sites Reviews says the support area sits under your profile menu as Get support, with a help section, a contact form and a phone number. Do it at least three days before the renewal date, since that's the notice period DatingScout reports. Not the night before. If you call, keep the script short and boring: cancel the subscription, no renewal, no discount offer, no trial on another site, and send confirmation by email. Then send your own email anyway so you've got a timestamp. If a charge shows up later, that email is what your bank will ask for.

Then delete the profile, from account settings, or by asking support to remove it and confirm in writing. Before you go, turn off Promote my Account and every email notification, so the site stops speaking for you while your profile is still sitting in the system.

And if the charges keep coming after all that, the advice on Reddit and in the Dating Sites Reviews forums is the same as it was back when a guy I worked with spent a lunch hour on hold over a charge he couldn't even identify on his statement: call your card issuer, dispute it, and have the card reissued if you need to. Last resort, but it works.

Where else to spend the $57

If you want another big, old-school casual site, AdultFriendFinder is the obvious comparison, bigger and older and carrying its own long list of complaints. I went through it in my AdultFriendFinder review. On Trustpilot as of October 2026 it sits at 1.1 from 460 reviews, so BeNaughty isn't even the worst-rated name in the category. Fling shows 4.2 from 211 reviews on the same platform, which is a huge gap for a site in the same niche, though a high score can also reflect how hard a company pushes its users to leave reviews.

If you're tired of paying to find out whether a profile is real, W4M Maps starts at the other end. Women listed there are verified with an ID check and a live video call, and you browse by state and city in the old w4m format, where the woman posts and the men answer. It's a much smaller pool than BeNaughty's, and that's the point. And if you want to poke around without handing anyone a card number, my list of free hookup sites with no credit card is the cheapest place to start.

Who BeNaughty is for, and who should close the tab

BeNaughty makes sense for a guy who's curious, patient, and reads a checkout page like a used car contract. Three days at $2.99, cancelled the same afternoon, auto-messaging off, prepaid card, burner email. That's a fair way to satisfy curiosity about one of the biggest names in the business.

It makes no sense for men who want verified women, men who hate upsells, or men over 40 who remember that the best thing about Craigslist was that it didn't pretend. Women get the better deal here, since messaging is free for them. Couples, according to DatingScout, have limited registration options.

I wouldn't spend $57.13 on a month. Nineteen years in, a 1.5 on Trustpilot isn't a fluke, and a site that will send messages for its members has made it hard to tell who's actually talking. Put the money toward a decent dinner with a woman you already know is real.

BeNaughty FAQ

Is BeNaughty real or is it all bots? It's a real site, launched in 2007 and run since 2013 by Together Networks Limited in Malta. Many Trustpilot and Reddit users report bot-like or AI-looking profiles, and the site has an optional feature that sends messages for members, so treat early messages with caution.

Can guys use BeNaughty for free? You can sign up, browse, search and use the Like Gallery free. DatingScout reports women can message free, while men need a paid membership to contact anyone, though men can read the first messages in their inbox.

How much is BeNaughty a month? DatingScout listed US prices on September 20, 2026 of $2.99 for 3 days, $57.13 for one month, $85.70 for three months and $114.27 for six months. Plans auto-renew, and prices vary by country and promotion.

Is there a BeNaughty app for iPhone? DatingScout reports an Android app only. No iOS app is listed, so iPhone users go through the mobile website.

How do I cancel BeNaughty and stop the charges? DatingScout says you can cancel by emailing support@benaughty.com, through customer support or by letter, with a three-day notice period before renewal. Get written confirmation, then delete the profile separately.

Who owns BeNaughty? Together Networks, which bought it from Cupid plc in July 2013 in a deal Reuters valued at 43.1 million pounds for the casual sites.
